Kutistemuovia kerhoillassa - Shrink plastic at the club meeting

Ensimmäiset kutistemuovikokeiluni muutama vuosi sitten eivät sujuneet kommelluksitta ja jossakin vaiheessa kyllästyin jatkuvasti epäonnistuviin töihin. Esimerkiksi tästä Art Deco -tyylisestä ikkunasta tulikin kippurainen sotku, minkä kuitenkin keksin käyttää maljakkona Taidegalleriani vieraskirjapöydällä.

My first experiments with shrink plastic a few years ago did not go entirely smoothly. At one point, I grew tired of a series of failed projects. For example, this window-to-be in Art Deco-style ended up as a curled-up mess although I did figure out a way to use it as a vase on the same table with the guestbook in my Art Gallery.

Onnistumisesta innostuneena, aion jatkaa kokeiluja.

Since shrink plastic was the topic at our club meeting, I naturally had to try my had at it again to find out if I could create a successful piece this time around. Well, it did not go perfectly, but it was a step in the right direction.

I wanted to made a cutting board. Since I am a big fan of the vividly colored Paratiisi-tableware collection, I copied some of its design onto a piece of shrink plastic. It turned out OK apart from its size; it is a little bit too big and more suitable for a Barbie doll than 1:12 scale dollhouse. Encouraged by this attempt, I plan to keep on experimenting with shrink plastic.
