Romusta miniksi - From trash to mini treasure

Hajonneesta suihkupullosta sain osia mineihin. 15 cm pituisesta muoviputkesta leikkasin purkkiaihioita ja vaaleanpunainen korkki sopi kukkaruukuksi sellaisenaan. Katso kuva alla.

I got some useful pieces from a broken spray bottle: a 15-cm long plastic tube that can be cut into several jars and the pink cap works as a flower pot. See the photo below.

I've been pampered with such lovely swap items! I still have a few more packages to open and then this will be over - for this year.

Kahvilanpitäjä Varma tuli katsomaan uuutta kasvihuonetta mutta kukaan ei ollut paikalla. Lahjaksi tuomansa viiniköynnöksen alun hän jätti portaille ja jäi miettimään pitäisikö sitä vielä kastaa tuolla hervottoman kokoisella kastelukannulla ennen kuin hän palaa kahvilaan.

The owner of Café Varma popped in to see the new greenhouse but no-one was there. She left her gift, the vine, on the stairs and is now wondering if she needs to water the plant with this huge watering can before she returns to her café.

Tilpehööriä on jo liikaakin vaikka vasta yksi sivuseinä on paikalla. Mistä tänne tullaan sisälle, kun lattia on täynnä tavaraa? Mitäs kukat tykkää olla takan vieressä? Tässä toinen kuva sivusta. Varmaa on, että puuhaa vielä riittää ennen kuin tämä on valmis!

The greenhouse is already pretty full of things although only one of the walls is in place. With the floor covered with plants, where's the entrance? I placed two plants next to the fireplace; will they be happy there? Here's another photo taken from the side of the greenhouse. As you can see, I still have lots to do before the greenhouse is finished!

Yht'äkkiä kiire hellitti ja tein kaikki nämä kasvit... valitettavasti ei. Varastoista löytyi muutama valmis ja aiemmin tehty kasvi, takana keskellä oleva kukka on ostettu Suuresta snadista, keltainen kasvi on tehty flower softista. Kaikki tulevat rakenteilla olevaan kasvihuoneeseen.

Suddenly my life calmed down and I had all the time in the world to make all these plants... nope, only in my dreams! I found some plants in my stash, the flower in the middle of the back row was bought at our local Model Making and Miniature Show a few weeks ago, and the yellow plant was made using flower soft. All these plants will go into my greenhouse which is still under construction.

Onpa viime postauksesta kulunut aikaa! Loma loppui ja niinpä vapaa-aika on kortilla. Pari mineilykerhoiltaa on jo vietetty ja rakennettu mininurkkausta Suureen Snadiin.

Kuvan viinirypäleet, Zilgaa, ovat puutarhastani. Ne ovat pieniä, pensasmustikan kokoisia ja niissä paljon siemeniä. Maku on hapan.

It's quite a while since I last posted anything here. My summer vacation ended, which resulted in less free time. We've had already two miniature club meetings where our group has been putting together a roombox for the biggest dollshouse event in Finland; it will take place at the end of Octbober.

The above photo shows my grapes that I've grown in my garden. Southern Finland is absolutely not the ideal place to grow grapes but this variety, Zilga, has survived well our winters and this is the first summer it has produced tiny grapes which have a lot of seeds and taste quite sour. A greenhouse would really be the best place for them to grow.
