Iloista vappua! - A Happy May Day!

Vappuboksi

It's time for May Day celebrations when new and older generations of school graduates wear their white caps, everybody enjoys tippaleipä (sweet "drip bread"), munkki (sugary doughnuts) and sima (mead, made from lemons and sugar) and many places are decorated with balloons and streamers. As usual, celebrations start on the eve of May Day (April 30). For some reason, we Finns like to celebrate everything on the eves prior to the festive day itself.
