Olen kokeillut kutistemuovin käyttöä aikaisemmin, huonoin tuloksin. Nyt yritin uudelleen mutta kolmesta työstä vain yksi onnistui. Vasemmalla olevasta työstä piti tulla pöydän kansi Art Deco -hotelliini mutta oikea reuna jäi tasoitusyrityksistä huolimatta kuprulle. Sen vieressä olevasta pyöreästä kutistemuovipalasta piti tulla ikkuna samaiseen hotelliin mutta työ jäi koveraksi. Ainoa, mikä onnistui oli leikkuulauta.
Kaikki työt olivat uunissa 150 oC vaikka ohjeessa kehotettiin käyttämään 170 oC. Miksi käytin ohjetta alhaisempaa lämpötilaa? Viimeksi sain em. neuvon kanssaharrastajilta. Ehkä 150 oC on liian korkea lämpötila. Ei kai auta muu kuin jatkaa kokeiluja.
Toisaalta nämä onnistuivat jo huomattavasti paremmin kuin ihan ensimmäisellä kerralla.
I've used shrink plastic last year with no luck at all. This time I was trying to make a coffee table top (on the far left), a window (on the right), and a cutting board - all for my Art Deco-hotel. The only one that turned out OK was the cutting board.
The table top was left with humps and bumps on the right side despite my efforts of straightening it. Also, the window turned out more like a bowl than a window. Only the cutting board turned out as it should.
I baked all of them in 150 oC although the instructions said to use a temperature of 170 oC. Why did I use a lower than recommended temperature? This was advice given to me by my fellow hobbyists. Maybe even the 150 oC was too high. Sigh. I'll just have to keep on trying until I'll get it right.
Anyway, these items turned out a lot better than the very first time when I used shrink plastic.

The round piece was intended to become a vitrage. The rectangular piece was going to be a table top but it didn't quite turn out the way I planned. I'll keep on trying.
