Lankakeriä kerhossa - Skeins of yarn in our club meeting

Kerhoillat ovat jatkuneet edelleen etänä. Viime kerralla teimme lankakeriä. Tarvitaan ohutta lankaa, neula, pilli, sakset ja vähän liimaa. Pillistä leikataan sopivan mittaisia paloja, n. 8 mm tai pienempiä. Lankaa pujotetaan neulan avulla pillin ympäri kunnes se on peittynyt kokonaan. Lanka katkaistaan. Liimaa voi lisätä pienen tipan purkautumisen estämiseksi mutta se ei ole välttämätöntä. Vyötteen voi tehdä itse tai leikata valmiista vyötteestä pieniä suikaleita.

We held yet another online club meeting and it was my turn to run the meeting. We made some skeins of yarn. All you need is thin yarn, a needle, a straw, scissors and some glue. Cut about 0.8 mm (or shorter) pieces from the straw. Use the needle to pass the yarn around the cut piece of straw until it's fully covered. Cut the extra yarn and add some glue to stop unraveling - this is not necessary, especially if you are going to stack the skeins on top of one another in a shelf. Add a yarn label around the skein; cut out strips from a large label or make your own.
