Olkinauhahattu oli päässyt loppumaan varastoistani. Siitä olisi syntynyt kauniita kesäkasseja. Sen sijaan että olisin hankkinut uutta olkihattunauhaa, päätin hyödyntää laatikosta löytynyttä raffiaa. Voiko se vanhentua? Vain lila väri oli joustavahkoa ja helposti työstettävää. Muut värit olivat hajota osiksi käsiin. No, ovathan ne odottaneet käyttöä jo monta vuotta... Lopputulos on kuitenkin ihan riittävän hyvä rantakioskia varten.
I had run out of straw hat ribbon and decided not to buy any new although it would have created much prettier straw bags. I ended up using what I had in my stash, which was raffia. The only color that was easy to work with was the lilac one. The rest of them almost crumbled in my hands. I wonder if raffia can get old and outdated? I have to admit that all the other colors have been hiding in one of my hobby drawers for quite some time... The end result, though, is good enough for the seaside stall.

The above photo shows what you need to make the bags: raffia, glue, a shape (here: a bottle opener) and some cling film to protect the item around which you will be gluing the raffia.
