Krakleerausta kerhossa ja muutenkin huonekalujen vanhentamista oli syksyn ensimmäisen kerhokerran aiheena. Maalasin ruskean tuolin valkoisella ja hioin maalattua pintaa kuluneen näköiseksi. Lopputulos oli hiukan tylsä.
Kotona innostuin kokeilemaan lisää. Ruskea tarjoilupöytä sai valkoisen kerroksen maalia, krakleerausainetta väliin ja vaaleanpunaisen päälikerroksen. Siitä tuli aika onnistunut.
Hyllyssä krakleerausaine ei jostakin syystä toiminut. Pohjalla valkoista, päällä vaaleankeltaista. Värit ovat kai liian samanlaisia eikä kunnon kontrastia synny. Käsittelin myös tylsän valkoiseksi maalatun tuolin uudelleen. Olen tekemässä pientä shabby chic -aiheista pienoishuonetta.
In the first club meeting this fall the topic was how to get aged looking furniture. I painted a simple brown chair with white and then sanded it to look old and used. Kind of shabby chic. I was so inspired by this meeting that I wanted to use the cracle medium on some of my mini furniture. I painted the brown tea trolley first with white, then added some cracle medium and gave the finishing touch with pink. It turned out pretty well.
The brown display cabinet got a coat of white, cracle medium and then the light yellow color. These colors are apparently way too similar as hardly any cracling appeared on the surface. I also repainted the boring white chair with pink. All these pieces of furniture are going to be placed in a shabby chic -themed scene that I'm working on.
